Our Team

Bennett McBride Jr. has faithfully served as General Manager of KHOY 88.1 FM for 29 years. While earning his degree in Telecommunications, McBride worked at the PBS station in Killeen, Texas, KNCT-TV. Since 1979, McBride has worked in the broadcast industry throughout the state of Texas including Killeen, Dallas, Midland-Odessa, Temple and Laredo. 

McBride is passionate about maintaining the best radio broadcast technology can offer and is proud to serve our community through positive programming. Bennett McBride is also the Director of Communications for the Diocese of Laredo since its inception in 2000.

Bennett is married to Mary Lou and they have four children: Bennett, Briana, Matthew & Mark.

Richard Noriega joined the KHOY Team in February 2020 as the On-Air Host of our weekday Morning Show. A familiar face to thousands, Noriega is well-known for his twelve years of service at KGNS-TV as News Director and Main Anchor. Noriega has had a full career in television and radio in San Antonio and Laredo, working at KSAT-TV, KVTV (CBS), Texas Public Radio (KSTX), and KGNS, where he retired from in 2018.

Richard is married to Ofelia, a native Laredoan and devout Catholic. Though originally a San Antonian, Richard considers The Gateway City to be his home and is extremely grateful to have reported the news to the people of Laredo and surrounding areas for so many wonderful years.

Richard is ecstatic at his newest endeavor to bring positive, prayerful programming to KHOY’s listening community in the mornings.
